I am a graphic designer and illustrator who loves tea, nature, and all forms of art. I recently graduated from the University of Saint Francis with a bachelor's degree in graphic design and minors in illustration and 3D studio art. I have done an internship with the Fort Wayne Youtheatre and completed a few freelance projects.
My work is often inspired by the Pop Art and Art Nouveau movements. I typically use Adobe programs for my work, but I also create work using traditional mediums. For my illustrations, I typically work in Adobe Illustrator, as I enjoy the clean lines and easy adjustment of vector art.
Here's my resume!I typically start my process by doing some research. I typically make a reference folder of competing products, any typefaces and designs I feel might work for the project, and reference photos for any illustrations I might create.
Once I have a thumbnail that I like, I will photograph it and pull it into whatever program that I am using to reference. I then roughly place the type and create the illustrations, adjusting both as I go to ensure they work well together.
After I have done some research, I start creating some thumbnails with a black marker and paper. I often go back and do more research as I am creating the thumbnails. I typically do 10–20 thumbnails, although the amount depends on the scale of the project.
Throughout the process, I send the project to the client for critique to ensure that it will be what they want. Once I feel the project is complete, I will go through it carefully to double check for mistakes and send it to the client one last time for any final changes.
